Both rebar ends- unmodified -are inserted into the split coupler sleeve from each side.
Bars are aligned centrally within the sleeve so both ends meet approximately at mid-length.
Lock-shear bolts are tightened progressively with a standard torque wrench until the heads shear off.
Inspect that all bolt heads have sheared- this confirms correct torque. Document and photograph for records.
